Hi, I’m Danny, founder of GaySpiritFriends and Centre for Movement & Relaxation. I’ve spent most of my life dancing—every style I could find has left its imprint on my body—and that love for movement still drives everything I do.
Zumba Fitness is my happy place, especially Zumba Gold. The latter is a gentle, low‑impact version for older adults that lets us keep the rhythm and joy alive while caring for our bodies. This way, everyone can join in the fun without feeling worn out or pushing their bodies beyond safe limits.
I’m drawn to Positive Psychology because I try to see the bright side of things. At its core, it’s about the habits and mindsets that help us thrive—gratitude, optimism and those small moments that lift our spirits. My background in Cultural & Identity Psychology shows me how our personal stories shape the way we experience the world. That insight blends naturally with both Positive Psychology and the Mindfulness Practice I’ve taught for years. Together, they give us tools to understand ourselves better and to stay present, no matter what’s happening around us.
In addition to Zumba, I also teach Power Yoga and previously led Ashtanga Yoga for many years—both part of the body‑mind practices that keep me grounded.
I also love Theatresports & Improv Theatre. The spontaneity and playfulness of those arts keep my creative muscles warm, and I enjoy sharing that sense of freedom with others. And when I’m not moving to a beat or guiding a meditation, you’ll often find me practising Lightsaber Combat—a quirky hobby that sharpens focus, balance and a little bit of my inner Jedi.
What excites me most isn’t just the work itself—it’s the chance to bring all of these pieces together for us. Whether it’s a dance session, a moment of mindful breathing or touch, a playful improv exercise, or practising positive psychology tools, I’m here to create a safe space where we can explore, laugh and grow together.
Let’s move, learn and light up the room—because it’s not about me or you; it’s about what we can become when we share the experience.
“One way to get the most out of life is to look upon it as an adventure.”
